About
Founded with a Simple Purpose
SkillReady by MakerSkill Spokane was founded with a simple purpose: to help adult refugees and immigrants build practical skills, confidence, and pathways toward opportunity.
Founded in Spokane, SkillReady grew from the belief that adult refugees and immigrants, including employment-authorized Pacific Islanders such as Marshallese and Chuukese community members, bring talent, creativity, resilience, and a strong desire to work. Yet many may not always have access to beginner-friendly training, language support, or community connections. Through hands-on learning and trusted partnerships, we help close the gap between talent and opportunity.

Refugees and immigrants bring resilience, creativity, and untapped potential—when given the right skills and opportunities, they don’t just rebuild their lives, they enrich communities and drive innovation.
